About Me

My Story

Hello! My name is Jessica Daugherty and I am the elementary school counselor at Mt. Vernon Elementary School. Certification as both a school counselor and elementary educator enables me to benefit students in the best way possible. I was a preschool teacher for 12 years and loved every minute of it, but discovered through that process that I enjoyed working with students on an individual basis and helping them grow socially and emotionally, which lead me to counseling. I have been married to the love of my life for 12 years, and we have 2 amazing little girls, who keep us busy and entertained. I am a “team player” who is flexible, approachable and resourceful. As a member of our school district, I will be diligent and determined to promote student achievement both educationally and socially. I love to talk and am looking forward to getting a chance to visit with each and every one of our students this year!
